Tip #1 Get a Matching Gift

Matching funds have become a hallmark of #GivingTuesday campaigns. In part, because their structure builds upon the urgency of the one-day event. People are inherently averse to lost opportunities. Missing the opportunity to have their gift matched – even if only up to a certain percentage or dollar value is a proposition that will get many to act.

Software like Double the Donation can help you identify matching prospects, but you’ll likely have better luck asking your existing donor network and volunteers. Keep in mind, many companies offer matches for nonprofits selected by their employees.
